Teaching In Indonesia

On our second day of the male teachers institute, we had the opportunity to hear from a current teacher in Indonesia about the opportunity and the experience to teach abroad specifically in Indonesia. Mr. Abdurrabb Watkins who was born and raised in an Islamic community in the city of New York is also a graduate of Clemson University and was a Call Me Mister scholar during his study at the institution. He is currently a teacher of English and social studies at Mentari International School in Jakarta.
During a Skype interaction with Mr. Ab. he vividly explained what it takes to study or teach abroad such as determination and hard work together with the willingness to step out of the comfort zone. He also talked about the advantages of teaching abroad and gave us possible websites to visit if we are planning on teaching English abroad in the nearest future. Mr. Abdurrabb was also kind enough to answer our questions and give us the optimum clarification about the experience and expectations of teaching English in a different country respectively.
