WAKE UP!
As a continuation from the first session, Mr. Hayward Jean, I believe, wanted to focus on confirming the identity of oneself. As pre-service and in-service teachers, he discussed that we are servant leaders and givers. We are servant leaders in the sense that we need to serve our students in knowledge but in order to serve them, we must lead them to it.
In order to maximize potential in the classroom, Mr. Jean wanted the TMCF fellows to understand 3 different ideas:
- Identity: understanding who you are
- Influence: your relationship with others
- Information: your instruction.
Mr. Jean summed this into a term know as YOU-ology which can be defined as the study of you.

Mr. Jean encouraged the fellows and left us with a charge:
- Do not cancel your mission
- Make sure the things that you entertain do not compromise your character.
