Anti Bully and Prevention of school Aged Violence

The lecture on flash mobbing and related violent issues amongst our youths was presented by Dr. Chuck Williams, a Philadelphia native who grew up in an urban setting with both parents on welfare. Dr. Williams earned his PhD in Educational Psychology from Temple University and is currently employed at the college of professional studies at Drexel University where he is an assistant clinical professor and the Director of the center for the prevention of School Aged Violence.
Dr. Chuck Williams deals with schools with the most violence in the district of Philadelphia, and is also featured in local and national media stories on FOX in Philadelphia. We had the opportunity to view one of his report on flash mobbing prior to his lecture where he gave parents most of the blame for why such an insane action happens. He presented a PowerPoint which featured youth violence statistics in our school, the causes and tools for change, and encouraged us as uprising African American males to be proactive in helping the future students. The presentation ended with reflections, comments, and feedbacks from both the presenter and the audience.
